Concord & 9th Summer Camp

Just got finished with my second Concord & 9th Summer Camp Virtual Retreat. It was exhausting but so much fun! I actually managed to get all of the cards completed. ❤️

Pinkfresh Studio Challenge

Hi Crafty Friends! This week I am participating in the Pinkfresh Studios November Challenge.

This months challenge is all about texture. You can add texture using heat embossing, dry embossing, or add die cuts or pastes. In this challenge you can use just the theme, just the colors, or both. I tried to do both, you will have to let me know how I did.

For these cards I used products I got from the Pinkfresh Studios Fall 2022 Create & Connect Virtual Event. I got the snowflake coverplate, deco frames, and snowflakes from the kit. I also used the Thrill of Hope stamp/die set and the Happy Holidays circle frame stamp/die/stencil set. This set made things super easy to create a beautiful card.

Making 5x7 cards has been my favorite thing to do lately. Especially when I put them on cream cardstock instead of white.

That is all for now, I hope you all have a great week!

Thanksgiving Cards

Thanksgiving is only a few weeks away! My church women's circle needed some cards for members on our prayer list. What better opportunity than to use this super cute mini set from Lawn Fawn and their matching dies to make these cards. I used an older Doodlebug paper pad and it was easy to match up the patterns.

This is just a sample of the 12 cards.

I colored each pumpkin with my Spectrum Noir TriColor markers. I used the left over strips of paper to create these fun cards.

I used Waffle Flower Arched dies to make the cards above. I was able to make 12 cards inside and out in around 2 hours. Not bad for a Saturday afternoon!

Well, that's it for today. Hope you enjoy!

I'm ready to start sharing again!

Hi everyone! My name is Jennifer S. I am a teacher by day and a crafter all the time. I love to craft all the things! I like to quilt, make stained glass, crochet, but most of all I love papercrafting. I used to have a blog where I would post my creations and cards that I designed. I let it go when my mother took ill with dementia in 2015. My mother passed away in 2020 during the pandemic and I stopped crafting altogether. This past year and a half I have started feeling creative again and created a craft group at my church. Now I am at the point where I want to participate in challenges and I need a blog to be able to share my designs. The two kids of 2kidsmom are grown and out of the house now, but my dog is still here:) I am ready to share again and I hope someone sees these posts and gets inspired.

Enjoy and keep crafting!

Taking a Break

After giving it much thought, I have decided to step away from the blogging world for a while. I am having personal and health issues in my immediate family and I feel I need to concentrate my time and energy on them. I will not be gone too long, I hope. I appreciate those that have been following my blog and I assure you I will be back. I find I am too distracted to create at this time and hope that taking a break will renew my creative juices. Thank you and see you soon.

Getting my life together

I haven't been working on creating any card projects lately because I have been busy trying to get my life organized! I decided this year that I would invest in a life planner in order to keep my different worlds a little more in sync with each other. So I got an Erin Condren Life Planner, but wanted to personalize it even more than the way it came. I got the MFT Planner Basics stamps and dies to help, but I quickly realized that the Silhouette was the better way to accomplish it. I am in the process of creating stickers for my planner and it is going much better. I know that in the long run I will be glad both personally and professionally that I invested this time, but boy is it taking time!

So maybe my Valentine card series will not be too extensive, but I will get around to posting some of the projects I have completed. They are waiting patiently on my desk! Just wanted to update what I have been doing. Hope you guys have a great week!

Valentine Card #1

Happy New Year!! This is my first post for 2015. I took a couple of weeks off to enjoy the holidays with my family and to get some much needed rest. I needed to reboot, but I am ready to get creative and get this crafty year started!

I decided to go ahead and get started on some Valentine cards. I have several dies that I bought last year and never got around to using, so I am diving in before Valentine's Day gets away from me.

I got this die from My Favorite Things and used it on some patterned paper left over from my Shakers + Sprinkles kit from Paper Trey Ink. The sequins are from the same kit, but the solid card stock and twine are from my The Stamps of Life card kit. I am really liking The Stamps of Life card stock and will probably be using it more often, at least for card bases.

This was a pretty easy card, but a good one to help me get back in the swing of things. Let me know what you think.

2014 Snowman Soup

I have been busy closing my Etsy shop for the holidays and making gifts for my students. I thought I would check in and share what I have been working on. I made Snowman Soup for all of my students and gave them a snowman mug to make it in.

I have discovered a wonderful company called The Stamps of Life. They have a stamp & die club and a card kit club which I have joined. The October stamp & die was a snowman and they have an add on Snowman Soup stamp set. My "snowman soup" consisted of 2 packs of hot chocolate, mini marshmallows, a chocolate Santa, and two candy canes. I lucked out to find matching snowman mugs at The Dollar Tree. It all turned out super cute, and I know my students will love them!
Merry Christmas!

Christmas day 3

Hi Everyone!
I have a card to share this week that was super easy to make! I used a Mama Elephant stamp and distress inks to create this card. I just white embossed the sentiment and doves, then I used Barn Door, Evergreen Bough, and Broken China to color the background. To finish it off I sprayed Frost Shimmer spray for Tsukineko. That is where the shimmer and shine is coming from! I added some Pretty Pink Posh sequins and that finished the card. Hope you like it!
