Distress Mania

I have a card today that I created quickly last night for the Lawnscaping Challeng blog. This weeks challenge is "Distress Mania". I use Distress ink to create this sky background then used a bunch of my Lawn Fawn stamps and die cuts. This is one of my favorite stamp sets - Gnome Sweet Gnome and I have the matching dies to make it super easy to use. I also used the Lawn Cuts Grass Border die and big Caption die for the top part. The coloring was simply colored Prismacolor pencils with Gamsol. I colored the images while watching Big Bang Theory re-runs! You can check out the blog challenge here. Let me know what you think!

Operation Write Home

I have decided to start giving most of my card creations to Operation Write Home. This is a wonderful organization that serves to support our Heroes and their families. My father served this country for 23 years in the Army and 15 years as a JROTC instructor. So you can imagine this organization has a special place in my heart! Here are some of the cards I created just for OWH. I hope some of you will consider supporting OWH yourself. I hope everyone enjoys this Memorial Day weekend, and remember to honor those who serve or have served our country. Thanks!

Papertrey Ink May Blog Hop Challenge

Paper Trey Ink is having a blog hop with a aqua and melon theme. I decided to create this card with the Over Under Easy stamp set and using some Stampin Up designer paper. I thought a shape card would be nice, so out came the Spellbinders dies. Throw in a few Lawn Fawn sequins and I think it is very pretty. Different from what I usually do, but still very cute. Let me know what you think. You can check out PTI's blog hop starting here.

Acetate and Embossed

I am participating  in two challenges with this project. Over at the Little Tangles blog this week for Neat and Tangled, the challenge is using acetate on you project. The other challenge is at A Blog Named Hero, with Your the (Em)Boss!
I wanted to make a card but didn't want to make another shaker card. So, one card I used acetate for the front of the card and the second I made a window with the acetate. I used one of my favorite stamps from Neat and Tangled to emboss. One with Lagoon Blue embossing powder and the other I used Sparkle embossing powder over navy ink. I dove into and old 12x12 paper pack by Momenta for the decorator paper.
These turned out better than what I had pictured in my mind when I was thinking about how to make them. The acetate let me decorate the inside just as pretty as the outside. The inside sentiment is from SSS Handwritten Sentiments stamp set. It is Kristina Werner's handwriting and it is one of my favorites! I am very happy with the final results and hope you agree. You can check out ABNH challenge here and Little Tangles here. Let me know what you think.

Die Crazy

The challenge over at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge blog is Die Crazy this week. So I thought I would share a few cards I created using SSS products. The dies having matching stamp sets and are super adorable. The first card is from Circle Friends and the second from Friend Circles. I used a paper set from Momenta and added some ruffled ribbon by Stampin Up. They were quick and easy to make, and I think turned out quite cute! These are good cards to keep on hand for anytime of the year. Check out the challenge blog here. As always, let me know what you think I love hearing from you!
