MFT Sketch Challenge

I was playing with my watercolors in preparation of onlinecardclasses.com Watercolor for Cardmakers class. So I decided to create this simple card for My Favorite Things card sketch challenge. I always enjoy this challenge blog because sometimes it helps to have the layout given to you. It doesn't involve too much thinking on my part:) I used paper from American crafts and the stamp and die are Simon Says Stamp products. Not a bad result from just playing around! Let me know what you think! You can join the challenge here.

SSS Clean & Simple Card

Today's card is one I created for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge blog. This week's challenge was to create a clean and simple card with the option of one extra layer. All images on this card came from SSS Watts Up stamp set. I put the light bulb on a dimensional , but everything else is one layer. I used Stampin Up inks. I really like how it turned out. Let me know what you think!

PTI Water Color Splats

I tried something new this week for a challenge over at Paper Trey Ink blog. For the Make Monday challenge Nicole Heady showed how to create "water splats" over paper that has been sponged with ink. I used three Stampin Up colors for my technique. Then I decided to step it up a notch by using PTI's tiny triangles cover die and was able to make two cards. They are not exactly my favorites, but it was fun to step out of my comfort zone. The sentiments are die cuts from the Silhouette store that I cut out with my Cameo. After I finished the technique I wanted to use the matching stamp set with the die, so I created the card below. You can visit Nicole's blog and her challenge here. Let me know what you think!

Paper Smooches SPARKS challege

Here is my other challenge card. For this card I went for color. I used Paper Smooches I Heart Art stamp set and a Paper Smooches die for the paint palette. It is a very simple card, but I love how it turned out. I also created a mini set using the paint palette die and a Simon Says Stamp sentiment. Again, I went for color! I think it worked, let me know what you think! You can check out their challenge blog here.

Lawn Fawn Love

This is the last day of my Spring Break and I have been a busy beaver. I completed three different cards for two different blog challenges.

The first are two mini cards for the Lawnscaping Challenge blog. This week's challenge is mini cards. I created two 4x4 cards, one using Lawn Fawn's Our Friendship Grows set and the other using Cruising Through Life. The sentiment on the pinwheel card is from Simon Says Stamp's Handwritten Sentiments. All of the papers are Lawn Fawn papers also. Can you tell I love Lawn Fawn?! Check out their challenge blog here to get inspired.

This image is colored using Copic markers.
I colored the images using colored pencils and Gamsol.

MFT Challenge

I am participating in My Favorite Things blog challenges this week. I am going with a "twofer" - two challenges with one card! This card uses the MFT Sketch challenge layout and the MFT color palette challenge colors also. Not only that, but I used a MFT stamp set with matching dies - Always Time for Tea. You can follow the layout challenge here and the color palette challenge here. I hope you enjoy and have a Happy Easter!

Be Inspired Challenge

I am back again with another blog challenge. This is for The Alley Way Stamps Be Inspired Challenge(BIC). I used the Adorabowl stamp set and colored the pins and bowling ball with Copic markers. I created the polka dot paper with Paper Tray Ink Polka Dot basics. I carried the theme inside the card to tie it all together using  Small Talk also from TAWS. They are quickly becoming one of my favorite stamp companies. You can check out the blog challenge here.

Paper Smooches Birthday Card

I am trying to build up my birthday card stash. So I created this colorful birthday card using Paper Smooches Birthday Buddies stamp set. I created the blue background using Paper Trey Ink's Polka Dot Basics stamp set. I used Copic markers to color in the adorable dog. I am not very skilled with Copics but I think he turned out really cute! I used a My Favorite Things Accent It die to add some color to the inside. I really love this card and stamp set. I will be making a lot of cards with this one! Let me know what you think.

I am entering this card in Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Blog Challenge. You can check out all of the entries here.

Hero Arts Thank You card

I had the need for a thank you card and of course I immediately went straight to this Hero Arts stamp. I saw Jennifer McGuire use this layering technique on her blog and wanted to create one myself. I must admit I don't think it turned out as good as Jennifer's, but it isn't too bad. I think I made my die cuts too thick and I should have used craft paper for the die cut backing. Oh well, it is all good! Let me know what you think.

BTW- I decided to enter this into a blog challenge over at A Blog Named Hero. You can check out their blog here

New Card

Wow! It has been awhile! Sorry I haven't posted in so long. I had a part time job for about 9 months and have just been too busy! Well, I am not working a second job anymore! I'm  back and have a new birthday card to share. This is a technique I learned from watching the talented Jennifer McGuire! I white embossed this Hero Arts background stamp and colored it in with Distress markers. It was much easier than it looks. The banner and sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp. I was really pleased with the result and wanted to share. I promise I won't wait too long to post again. Thanks for viewing and until next time - Keep Crafting!
