Create a background

front of card

The Lawnscaping Challenge this week is create your own background. Now you know I love anything Lawn Fawn, so this gave me a good reason to use my new Dream set with matching dies. I use LF's Dewey Decimal petite paper pack and the ink is Stampin Up. I just used a waterbrush to color in the feathers. Throw in some Zing gold embossing powder and I don't think I could love this card more! Check out the challenge blog here and play along. Have I mentioned I love Lawn Fawn!

Hi Cutie Pie

Today's card is one I created for The Alley Way BE - Inspired challenge blog. They provide a picture and you take it from there. I used the Adorabowl stamp set with some simple Copic coloring. Usually for cute images like this, I would use bright colorful colors. But with the inspiration picture I used some muted papers from American Crafts and a button from Stampin Up. Suprisingly, I really like the way it turned out. That is why I like these challenges. They make you think outside of the box, and most of the time the result is lovely! You can find the challenge and inspiration picture here. Let me know what you think, I love hearing from you!

Shaker card

I have been wanting to use this Paper Smooches set since I got it a few weeks ago. I also have been wanting to make a shaker card, they are all the rage now. Since the challenge theme over at the Paper Smooches blog is Anything Goes, I took the opportunity to create this card.  I must admit, this turned out to be one of my favorite ones! I used Chubby Chums stamp set with the matching die and some American Crafts paper. The sequins for the shaker part are Lawn Fawn's let' s Polka sequin set and some sequins I picked up at Hobby Lobby. I love how this card turned out and I am definately going to make more! If you want to check out the Paper Smooches challenge, you can find it here. Let me know what you think, I love to hear from you!

Clean and Simple Birthday Cards

Card Front
inside of card

I have a couple of clean and simple birthday cards for you today. I used CAS-ual Fridays Shenanigans stamp set to white emboss the sentiment on each card. The paper is from Doodlebug and I used the stars from a Simon Says Stamp Birthday Balloons stamp set. I created these cards for the CAS-ual Fridays blog challenge. Their challenge is three-thirds, use three of something on 1/3 of the card. I must admit that it was difficult to contain myself to only 1/3 of the card, but I think they turned out beautifully! You can check out the challenge here. Let me know what you think, I would love to hear from you!

Mother's Day Cards

I made two Mother's Day cards this weekend one for my mother and one for my sister. Two of the best mothers I know! My mother loves butterflies, so I used the Memory Box butterfly border die to create her card. I used a technique inspired by Jennifer McGuire from one of her videos. She is super talented! I cut the sentiment on my Silhouette Cameo using an image from the Silhouette store. I was able to use the outline of the die for the inside of my card. I have begun decorating the inside of my cards after watching Amy R's videos on YouTube. Amy and Jennifer are very talented ladies and you should check out their blogs. The card below I made using Lawn Fawn Let's Polka paper and Stampin Up's Banner Blast stamp set. The background was made with Stampin Up's canvas background stamp, it is an oldie but still a goodie! The sentiment on the inside of both cards came from Avery Elle's mini set Simply Said: Love.
I am putting these cards in a couple of challenges this week. Challenge #43 over at A Blog Named Hero is an inspired by challenge which as I already said Jennifer McGuire inspired the butterfly card. Avery Elle is having a Mother's Day theme challenge and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog is anything goes this week. Let me know what you think, I love hearing from you.

Paper Trey Ink slider card

I have an interactive card for you today. I love the Movers & Shakers dies from Paper Trey Ink. I used the slider die and then Whale Wishes die set from PTI. I think it goes perfectly with these papers from Lawn Fawn. I used the Let's Polka and Daphne's Closet petite paper packs. I just love Lawn Fawn papers, they go with almost anything! Of course I had to add some Wink of Stella to the whale:) I am using this card for this week's Simon Says Stamp Challege blog, the theme is Anything Goes. You can check out the challenge here. Let me know what you think. I love to see comments!
